WHY WATER?

 

Diseases from dirty water kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war.

Water affects everything: education, health, poverty and especially women and children who often bear the responsibility for collecting and carrying the water home. It’s not unusual for them to walk 3 hours every day to find water… contaminated water.

Time spent collecting water is time not spent in school, or earning an income and taking care of their families.

Meanwhile, every $1 invested in clean water can yield $4–$12 in economic returns.

It is a solid investment; access to clean water is perhaps the most powerful tool for driving economic growth that humanity has ever known. It’s the first step in making sustainable change possible.
